Greg Martin, Managing Director

In addition to his work with Rainmaker, Greg is the founder and Managing Director of Archer Venture Capital a venture capital fund focused on growth-stage secondary investments. Additionally, Greg is the founding partner of Liquid Stock, which provides financing for option exercise and liquidity to shareholders of pre-IPO companies.

Prior to founding Archer and Liquid, Greg was a partner with Redpoint Ventures in Los Angeles focusing on early and growth-stage venture capital investing. Greg has led investments in SquareTrade (sold to AllState), 2U (TWOU), TrueCar (TRUE), TrueX (sold to Fox), Networks in Motion (sold to TSYS), Alacra (sold to Opus), TelASIC Communications (sold to MTI), Webvisible (sold to The Berry Company) and SOA Software (sold to RogueWave) and was actively involved with Redpoint's investment in MySpace (sold to NEWS). Greg is also co-founder and Chairman of BetheBeast, and co-founder and Vice-Chairman of Nurocor Software

Previously, Greg was an investment banker with Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette's Technology Group, and before that, with Smith Barney where he focused on cross-border M&A and financing transactions. Greg is a past board member of the Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA) and an Advisory Board member of the Tech Coast Angels and the San Diego Venture Group. 

Greg is a Carter Scholar from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA. Greg also holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree, with concentrations in Information Systems and Accounting, from the University of Calgary. Greg holds Series 7, 63 and 24 securities licenses.
