Tim Barnes

In addition to his work with Rainmaker, Tim is Founder and Managing Director of Axis Group Ventures, a specialized capital markets advisory firm focused on providing strategic advice and capital raise placement support for global venture capital backed firms and founder led technology companies.  Tim has over 15 years of experience banking, investing and advising high growth venture capital backed companies.  He has deep domain expertise in debt capital financing and was previously a venture debt investor at Silicon Valley Bank (Nasdaq: SIVB) from 2006 to 2015, and Hercules Capital (NYSE: HTGC) from 2015 to 2018.  Earlier in his professional career, he was an Officer in the U.S. Air Force with tours supporting aircraft maintenance operations for A-10, HH-60, and C-130 aircraft, and then procurement for the GPS satellite system.  He holds a B.S. from the U.S. Air Force Academy, M.B.A. from the University of Southern California, and M.A.S. from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
